A Wonderful Community Cream Tea at The Centre

On Saturday 27th June, The Centre was filled with laughter, conversation and a wonderful community spirit as we hosted our Cream Tea afternoon.

We were delighted by the fantastic turnout and would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, as well as welcoming new visitors. Your support means so much to us and helps keep The Centre thriving for the whole community.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible trustees and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the afternoon such a success. Special thanks to Abi, Lynn, Sarah, Freya, Hayley, Hilary, Hazel and Belinda for setting the scene, preparing everything, making the delicious sandwiches, baking the wonderful scones and cakes, serving our guests and, of course, taking care of the all-important washing up afterwards! Events like these simply wouldn't be possible without your enthusiasm, hard work and dedication.

We have been overwhelmed by the lovely feedback shared on our Facebook page. Here are just a few of the wonderful comments:

"We had a wonderful time, on table 3! Thank you all so much." – Ruth Moynes

"Fantastic cream tea, lovely sandwiches & scones." – David Morton

"An absolute delight, the cream tea this afternoon. Thank you – you'd get 5*** on TripAdvisor for sure!"** – Yvonne Sharrock

"What a great day. Thank you to all you wonderful ladies for your hard work and attention to detail. It was a very pleasant afternoon, great food and great company. Many thanks from all those who attended. Time to put your feet up – you deserve a well-earned rest!" – Beverley Collins

Reading comments like these makes all the planning and preparation worthwhile, and we're so grateful that everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

We're also pleased to share that the funds raised from the Cream Tea are being put towards the purchase of a ride-on mower for The Centre's grounds. Keeping our outdoor spaces looking their best is an important part of maintaining a safe, welcoming and attractive environment for everyone who visits.

In addition, we would like to thank Camrose Community Council for their generous financial contribution towards the ride-on mower. Their support, together with the money raised through events like our Cream Tea, is helping us invest in equipment that will benefit The Centre and the wider community for many years to come.

Once again, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, baked, donated and supported us. Community events like this remind us what a special place The Centre is, and we look forward to welcoming you to our next event.
