Community Garden
The Centre’s community garden is a thriving, welcoming space lovingly nurtured by dedicated volunteers. What was once an enclosed and condemned play park has been transformed into a vibrant, nature-inspired area for all to enjoy. It now features imaginative play elements including a pirate ship, a mud kitchen, and a xylophone, encouraging creative outdoor play. The garden is rich with life, boasting vegetable, fruit, and flower beds, alongside a greenhouse that produces super-sweet tomatoes throughout the summer months.
Outside, raised sensory beds have been carefully designed to engage touch, smell, and taste, filled with herbs and produce to match their purpose. The orchard is planted with a variety of fruit trees and bushes, offering seasonal abundance, while the wider grounds are beautifully flanked by a stream and include an exceptionally large recreational field for sports and play. Produce grown and harvested by our volunteers is shared through the Honesty Shed, where it is available to the community; funds raised are then reinvested back into the garden, helping it continue to grow and benefit everyone.
Together, these spaces create a unique environment where nature, community, and wellbeing grow side by side.
